Ubisoft has once again delayed both Rainbow Six Extraction and Riders Republic, with the former moved to January 2022 and the latter to October 28.
In separate posts, the publisher attributed the Extraction delay to the need "to take additional time to bring this vision to life," while saying Riders Republic needed "more time to fine tune the experience and give you another chance to jump in before launch and provide feedback."
Both games have suffered delays already, Rainbow Six Extraction was initially announced at E3 2019 and was set for a 2020 release, but has since been pushed multiple times. Riders Republic was announced during the Ubisoft Forward event in September of 2020 and planned for launch the following February, but was later pushed to September 2.
These come as part of an ongoing trend of delaying games that Ubisoft has succumbed to in recent years. Back in 2019, Rainbow Six Quarantine's delay came alongside similar delays to Immortals: Fenyx Rising and Watch Dogs Legion.
More recently, Far Cry 6 got pushed ahead an entire fiscal year, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora got a delay into 2022, and Skull & Bones has been victim to numerous release window pushes after its initial announcement at E3 2017.
We previewed Rainbow Six Extraction last month and were surprised and impressed by its balance of staying close to its Rainbow roots while offering a Left 4 Dead-inspired experience. Riders Republic is currently offering sign-ups for upcoming betas.
