Your Android phone is getting its best free upgrade in years very soon - Express

It has been a big week for . The tech giant held its annual I/O conference in California, unveiling a slew of new perks for that promise to make the world’s most popular smartphone software even better, and these updates could be coming to your phone very soon.

If you own an Android phone, it is currently running either Android 14 or an earlier version of Google’s mobile platform (you can check in your phone’s settings which it is). Only phones released in the last few years are likely to get the newly launched Android 15 - and often only the priciest phones get treated to several years of updates.

Android 15 is available now in beta form - that’s when you can opt in to get the software early, but we don’t recommend doing this on your phone as it’s currently full of bugs. Instead, you should wait until Android 15 is officially released to some Android phones later in the year, most likely in September or October around the expected launch of the new Google Pixel 9 phones.

It’ll then roll out to the latest Galaxy devices such as the series, phones like the , and other newer Androids. It’ll likely then come to older phones later in the year or into 2026.

We don’t think Android 15 is going to be a very noticeable upgrade to your phone, mainly because most of its improvements are subtle changes behind the scenes. Most of the headline features are still relatively niche, but that goes to show just how advanced Android is in 2024 - it isn’t missing much!

One of the new headline features though is called Private Space, which lets you create a hidden area in your phone’s app drawer, only accessible with your fingerprint or other authentication. Google says it’s a place to hide apps such as banking apps that you want prying eyes away from, but you can put any app in there.

For those apps you may have installed accidentally not realising they are dodgy, Android 15 also adds in malicious app blocking. Your phone will be able to detect bad apps and keep them from scraping your personal data. Google says this all works behind the scenes, but the system will also use Google Play Protect to send you a notification if it detects a malicious app in the first place.

If you take a lot of photos, the new Low Light Boost will come in handy. Google says camera apps on phones with Android 15 will be able to preview night time shots more accurately on your screen and will also be able to scan QR codes in darker places.

Google is also adding satellite connectivity options in Android 15. Traditional mobile networks require connection to a mobile mast nearby to work, but recently there have been advances in direct satellite connections, mostly for use in emergency situations in remote locations. The new Android could allow some apps to send SMS messages over satellite, but we’ve yet to see how it’ll all work.

One cool feature coming is unfortunately limited to the US for now, but it will allow our friends across the Atlantic to add digital versions of text-based passes to Google Wallet using their phone camera. Examples include library cards, event tickets and gym memberships. It’s another quick way to store information and carry fewer physical cards around with you.

Another of our favourite new tools is app archiving. This addresses apps you have on your phone that you haven't used for a while, with Android 15 automatically archives these apps in the cloud if you’re running low on storage to make sure you can still receive messages and photos from your most used apps but gives you the option to redownload those that are archived, keeping you signed in to your accounts.

Finally, our last pick of the best Android 15 updates is partial screen recording - you’ll be able to start recording your screen but the file will only be of the specific app and what you’re doing in it. If you receive any notifications, they won’t show up in the recording, keeping your personal information private.

Samsung Galaxy Watch7 passes through the FCC alongside Galaxy Watch FE - GSMArena.com news - GSMArena.com

Samsung is expected to launch at least three versions of the Galaxy Watch7 at its next Unpacked event in July - the vanilla, the Classic, and the Pro. A cheaper Galaxy Watch FE may join it too, and although it may not be called that, we'll use that name for now, as it's easy to follow.

A bunch of Samsung smartwatches have been listed by the FCC, with model numbers SM-L300, SM-L305, SM-L310, SM-L315, and SM-R861. L300 and L310 could be the Wi-Fi-only versions of the two sizes for the vanilla Watch7, with L305 and L315 being their respective LTE-capable iterations.

Samsung Galaxy Watch7 passes through the FCC alongside Galaxy Watch FE

That leaves the SM-R861. This stands out doubly because it uses Samsung's old model number assignment scheme, but also because of the number it uses. The Galaxy Watch4 was SM-R860, and the Galaxy Watch FE has also been rumored to launch as the Galaxy Watch4 (2024). So, things do seem pretty obvious at this stage.

Now what's unclear is where the Classic and Pro Galaxy Watch7 models are at - or even the rumored rectangular one. Undoubtedly, the FCC will certify those as well. Or rather, as many as are actually real and not just rumors.

Samsung trolls Apple with "UnCrush" video, responding to controversial iPad Pro ad - GSMArena.com news - GSMArena.com

Apple got into a lot of hot water recently for releasing an ad for the new iPad Pros - it's called "Crush!" and the company even issued an apology for it, vowing to not air it on TV. Here it is for your viewing "pleasure":

Samsung couldn't help itself and responded to Apple's ad with a new video of its own, titled "UnCrush", which has the tagline "We would never crush creativity". Take a look:

Obviously, Samsung wants to capitalize on the controversy surrounding Apple's ad, which has pretty universally been hated across the internet. While we appreciate the intent behind Apple's ad (showing that the new iPad Pro can replace all of those objects), why it needed to literally crush everything to make its point is beyond us, and it's not a good look.

As for Samsung's attempt at trolling, it obviously wasn't surprising, and thus it's definitely nowhere near as shocking as Apple's ad. But is it effective? Let us know whether, following all this controversy, you'd consider buying a Galaxy Tab S9 over a new iPad Pro.

'Ghost Of Tsushima' Is Already Flooded With Negative Reviews On Steam - Forbes

Not long ago, I wrote about how Sony was squandering player goodwill with the Helldivers 2 debacle. The game publisher announced it would require Helldivers 2 players on PC to link their PSN accounts to Steam in order to keep playing the game. The only problem?

A lot of PC gamers either didn’t want to create a PSN account since they don’t own a PlayStation, or simply couldn’t because they lived in one of 177 different countries where that’s simply not possible. Sony ended up backtracking on the decision after enough bad press—and hundreds of thousands of negative Steam user reviews—forced their hand.

But the damage is done, and the good will has already been lost. One of the best PlayStation 4 games ever made, Ghost Of Tsushima, lands on Steam today and already the negative user reviews are in. From what I’ve perused so far, none of the negative reviews have anything to do with the gameplay or the game’s performance on Steam.

Instead, the negative reviews all focus on the PSN requirement. In the case of Ghost Of Tsushima, this was much better advertised. Helldivers 2 waived the requirement for several months before Sony made the announcement, which is largely why it was met with such enormous backlash. Ghost Of Tsushima makes it clear from the outset. It also makes it clear that the requirement is only for the multiplayer co-op portion of the game and the PlayStation overlay, which means you can play the entire single-player campaign—the vast bulk of the game—without a PSN account linked to your Steam account.

My hunch here is that had there never been a Helldivers 2 PSN controversy, and all the bad press that engendered, Ghost Of Tsushima’s PSN requirement would have flown mostly under the radar. Sony made this bed for themselves and now every one of their Steam releases that has multiplayer components will be hit with lots of negative reviews that focus solely on that.

It’s unfortunate timing. The game drops on Steam at the exact same time Ubisoft revealed the first Japanese Assassin’s Creed game, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. That game is already embroiled in controversy over one of its main protagonists, Yasuke, and Sony could have easily capitalized on that by making a big deal out of the Ghost Of Tsushima Steam launch. Instead, both games are bogged down in their very own controversies. And this is why we can’t have nice things.

Side-note: I don’t see any official reviews up for the game out on any gaming websites or YouTube, which makes me wonder if review codes were even sent out at all. That’s somewhat worrisome. I’ll have to take it for a spin and see what’s what.

Meet the new hero of Helldivers 2: Dremskiy, a player kicked despite insisting "Im frend," who now has a full Steam friends list after even PlayStation shared the love - Gamesradar

A rocky run of balance patches and technical issues hasn't stopped the Helldivers 2 community from being wholesome as hell, as evidenced by the recent outpouring of support for a sad-looking player named Dremskiy, who is now every Helldiver's friend.

The Dremskiy saga, as future historians will call it, started on May 13 when, as many memes have documented, screenshots emerged of a text chat conversation between Dremskiy and another player named Tolga. It's a tale as old as time: Dremskiy joined a public lobby which wasn't supposed to be public, and Tolga, the squad leader, apologized in advance for having to kick them so they could return to a friends-only session. The best drama authors on the planet would struggle to top the final exchange.

"Im frend," Dremskiy said, voice quavering (I assume).

"Don't make this more difficult," Tolga responded, tearfully (I assume).

The interraction that can make a grown man cry from r/Helldivers

Fast forward mere hours and Dremskiy's story is all over the Helldivers 2 community across Reddit and Discord. Memes, fan art, animations – the whole nine yards. People are calling for a cape or emblem made in Dremskiy's honor. "Im frend" has become a battle cry for camaraderie, complete with a new user flair on the main subreddit, and even developer Arrowhead and publisher PlayStation are in on it.

dremskiy objection!!!!! from r/Helldivers

"For prosperity. For liberty. For democracy. For frend," the developer tweeted earlier today.

"Im frend," PlayStation UK responded, and just this once I won't break out the anti-brand quasar cannon, primarily because I don't have to because the Helldivers 2 community has already replied to loudly remind PlayStation that nobody's forgotten the whole PSN debacle was its idea. You don't just become frend overnight, Sony

Dremskiy, however, did become a community icon almost overnight. Better still, they now have a full friends list on Steam, packed with fellow divers engaging in jolly cooperation. I know this because I found them on Steam – confirming to the best of my ability that it's the correct Dremskiy using their Helldivers 2 playtime – and Steam says their friends list is full.

When I say I found them on Steam, I mean I found them. I was luckily able to chat with Dremskiy to not only confirm this story but also get their thoughts on the whole thing. Turns out they're a graffiti artist and have a Twitch, too.

"Yes I'm the frend," Dremskiy tells me. I ask if they were caught off guard by the sudden wave of attention and friend requests, and if they've actually found some new people to play with. "Indeed," Dremskiy says. "But I only found out today, so I'm filtering through some requests and chats here."

Frend forever and beyond

Dremskiy

"I saw comments which made me smile. Genuinely happy for all of you," they say of the community response. "I was just minding my own business." Fortunately, the sudden spotlight hasn't been a problem for them. "I don't use social media a lot, so yeah its all cool 'n stuff," they say. "But I understand the meme. Because frend :D Always stay positive." Oh, and for the record, there's no hard feelings toward Tolga: "I genuinely am not upset he said I can't play within his party. I was looking for a random match."

Amazingly, they hadn't yet seen that even Arrowhead and PlayStation had joined in on the fun. I alerted them to the tweets above, and their response was golden: "Wait the devs are? You're joking right? Okay now I'm getting a bit anxious if the devs respond and stuff. What am I supposed to say or do?"

I asked if they have a message for the folks who've rallied around the frend banner. "I'm frend," they begin. "Frend forever and beyond. Since the devs are taking notice of this I want to thank them ... A lot of people are complaining about this and that about the game, but as far as I'm seeing it's doing really good." They say their only real problem is "when you dive into the ground and certain areas in the map you would get stuck and glitch."

"Other than that it's just an amazing experience," they say of Helldivers 2, adding that they've clocked over 100 hours in the game and have reached rank 41.

In my search, I also spotted a Steam user named Frend of Dremskiy, which goes to show how far this trend has spread. What's more, Dremskiy has received several Steam awards, including four "Take My Points" medals and five "Warm Blankets." You've got to love a genuine case of players rallying to co-op with someone who, even if their story was slightly dramatized, looked to be in need of friends. Sorry – frends.

This one probably won’t make the store but I couldn’t help it from r/Helldivers

Helldivers 2 dev threatens to make the hardest difficulties even harder: "I think we might have some things in store for the players who coast through everything."

Google wants to make long car rides more fun with new features - Android Central

Google is rolling out new apps and features for Android Auto and Google Built-in.

What you need to know

  • Google is releasing new apps for cars with Android Auto and Google built-in, like Max, Peacock, and Angry Birds, to make your drive a little less dull.
  • Google Cast is also now available on cars with Android Automotive OS so that you can throw video content from your devices right onto your car's screen.
  • Google is also making it a breeze for developers to adapt apps for cars with new guidelines and tools to streamline the whole process.

Google just unveiled a bunch of new features and apps for cars equipped with Google built-in and Android Auto, including entertainment apps like Max, Peacock, and Angry Birds.

However, the news that Google Cast will be available in cars with the Android Automotive OS will probably generate a lot of buzz. This comes as software developers are eager to add more features and capabilities to cars.

Google Cast's arrival on Android Automotive means you'll be able to stream video content from your phone or tablet straight to your car's screen while parked, even if the app doesn’t support native casting. Initially, this feature will roll out in Rivian models, with more cars to follow, Google's announcement says.

Additionally, the Uber Driver app is now on Android Auto, letting drivers accept rides, navigate deliveries, and get all the directions they need on large infotainment screens.

Google also makes it easier for developers to bring existing apps to cars. The company will provide guidelines for creating streamlined in-car experiences and new tools to simplify the process.

As part of this effort, Google is launching a program called "Car ready mobile apps." Basically, the tech giant will check out an existing mobile app to see if it's already car-friendly. If it passes, Google will automatically add it to Android Auto—no extra work for developers.

The program will initially include apps for video, gaming, and browsing while parked, with plans to add more categories later.

Over the past few years, Google has focused on enhancing your in-car entertainment options for times when you're parked or stuck in traffic. At its I/O conference last year, the company revealed plans to bring streaming video and virtual meeting tools to car infotainment screens. Google also announced that Volvo and Polestar would be the first to offer YouTube on their in-car systems, with more automakers following suit later.

In its blog post, Google highlights the growing opportunity to provide safe and seamless connected experiences for drivers and passengers as car technology advances. With this in mind, Google is set to offer more entertainment options for when we're stuck in our cars.

However, as infotainment systems grow flashier and more complex, distraction continues to be a significant issue for modern drivers.

Steve Jobs would have sacked everyone involved in Apple's awful iPad advert - The Telegraph

With just two bad jokes at the Royal Albert Hall in 1991, Gerald Ratner destroyed his company’s reputation. Last week Apple had a go, but on a much bigger budget.

In a TV advertisement by the company, a wide variety of musical instruments, creative tools and materials and games are all annihilated by a giant black slab. Even a vintage Space Invaders-style arcade console is flattened.

The ad revels in their destruction and nothing is left at the end but the new iPad, which we are informed is a little thinner now: 0.6mm thinner, in fact.

Rarely has the reaction to an advertisement ever been so unanimous. For the art critic JJ Charlesworth, the video was, “in the most degraded way, an expression of loathing for material culture, creativity and tactile sensuality”, he wrote. “Imagine a hell where the only culture that existed was trapped on a screen.”

Many others also baulked at the quasi-fascistic image of power imposed from above, where individuality is crushed, and resistance is futile. If we wanted an illustration of the arrogance of the modern tech titans, the 21st century Robber Barons, then Apple has just made it for us.

“We missed the mark with this video, and we’re sorry,” the company owned up, as it withdrew the ad from circulation. “Crush” will not appear in the pre-booked TV slots, but the damage has been done.

In the past, Apple has shamelessly co-opted artistic genius to build its luxury brand before. It tries to persuade us that all the cool, creative people use Apple products, while only boring normies use those made by its rivals. Poor people, and people with no taste, in other words. Don’t be like them!

Today, the “Ratner Moment” is taught in business lessons as an executive disaster-class in what not to say.

The chief executive joked that the jewellery he sold is so cheap that it would be outlasted by a prawn sandwich from Marks & Spencer.

Today, with each customer investing thousands of pounds in the Apple ecosystem of products, we’re not going to abandon the company overnight. But it’s worse than “doing a Ratner”, because it dramatises how Big Tech views us, and what we value.

We recoil from such imagery because we know that we really don’t need to destroy something beautiful to create something interesting and new.

That was the proposition the town planners insisted we must accept in the 1960s, as they laid waste to our beautiful Victorian heritage, and what Russell T Davies and Disney maintain today, as they take an axe to Doctor Who.

It’s false, however. Old things can take on new forms and find new uses. As a builder you can add, not subtract. Our disquiet is heightened by the imminent arrival of what’s branded as artificial intelligence, and a great flood of derivative, low quality “content paste”.

It’s making the world duller because it’s all derivative and feels much less human. It’s coming at a great cost to human creators.

How could Apple misjudge the audience so badly? Steve Jobs would surely have been appalled, and sacked everyone involved: including Tim Cook, the paperclips guy who took Jobs’ seat. Perhaps Apple is lost without its late co-founder, and we only now see how badly lost it is.

The Crush TV ad really chills because it reveals a psychopathy that can be found with the titans of Silicon Valley: a generation of immature man-children who believe they are worthy Masters of the Universe, capable of bending reality to their will.

One notorious example is the venture capitalist Marc Andreessen’s recent “Techno-Optimist” manifesto.

Anyone who queries Andreessen’s version of the future – one where restraints on his behaviour have been removed – must be motivated by “fear, guilt, and resentment”.

But “tech has no manifest destiny”, counters Neil Turkewitz, a former music industry executive turned creator rights advocate. “It’s up to us to determine its arc.”

The brilliant popular historian Rick Perlstein recalls attending a book club held at Andreessen’s palatial home, in which the former small town boy made good “made it clear that people who chose not to leave such places deserved whatever impoverishment, cultural and political neglect, and alienation they suffered”. Such contempt is evident in the Crush ad, too.

Art critic Charlesworth also wondered if “Apple has realised it hasn’t got any fresh ideas for products and now just wants to smash everything up”.

In truth we don’t know, because Apple, like the other Big Tech giants, doesn’t need to try very hard to create new things – the new iPad that “Crush” promotes is almost identical to the one it replaces.

Because Apple knows once we’re locked in, it can extract a rent from us, and from business sectors like finance and third-party developers, via the subscription and service fees we will pay forever. Technology has become a cosy oligopoly.

Perhaps we can use the PR disaster as a reminder of the inventiveness of the unsung scientists whose work allows the iPad to get 0.6mm thinner every two years. Much of technology is built on stolen valour.

To all those creators who Apple insulted last week: new inventions and creativity keep the world feeling fresh and alive, rather more than the complacent technology giants do today as they count their profits and wonder what on earth to do next.

The commercial features a hydraulic press crushing various creative tools like musical instruments, paint cans, and gaming consoles. While Apple intended to showcase the thinness and power of the new iPad by contrasting it with bulkier creative devices, the message backfired.

Hrithik Roshan joins British actor Hugh Grant and filmmaker Asif Kapadia who previously expressed disapproval of the ad. Grant called it "The destruction of the human experience. Courtesy of Silicon Valley," while Kapadia criticized it for symbolizing how "tech companies squeeze" artists.

The ad, launched by Apple CEO Tim Cook earlier this month, aimed to highlight the iPhone's processing power and sleek design. However, the focus on crushing creative tools left many viewers feeling that the ad disrespected artistic expression and traditional creative methods. Following the negative reception, Apple reportedly decided to pull the commercial from television airing.

Coming back to Hrithik, on the professional front, he was last seen in Fighter, a Siddharth Anand directorial. Co-starring Deepika Padukone, it was released this year in January. Now, he is busy with shooting his next War 2. Helmed by Ayan Mukerji, it will be the sixth installment of YRF’s Spy Universe followed by Pathaan, Tiger 3, War, Tiger Zinda Hai, and Ek Tha Tiger. The upcoming film will also star Kiara Advani and Jr NTR.

Google issues urgent Chrome update to all UK users - relaunch your browser today - The Mirror

Chrome users across the UK - and the rest of the world - need to make sure that their web browser is fully up to date with the very latest version. The alert has been issued after a worrying flaw was found within Google's massively popular software which could give hackers access to personal PCs and data held on hard drives. What makes things so urgent is that the bug (which was discovered in CVE-2024-4671) has been handed the dreaded 'Zero-day' rating which means hackers are already aware of the glitch and are actively exploiting it.

"The Stable channel has been updated to 124.0.6367.201/.202 for Mac and Windows and 124.0.6367.201 for Linux which will roll out over the coming days/weeks," Google explained in an update on its website. "Google is aware that an exploit for CVE-2024-4671 exists in the wild."

According to the security team at Action1, this new bug could allow hackers to take advantage of improperly managed memory to gain control of an affected device.

"Such vulnerabilities could lead to system crashes, data corruption, or worse—if skillfully exploited by an attacker, they could result in unauthorised access and control of a victim's system," explained Mike Walters, President and co-founder of Action1.

"Google has acknowledged that an exploit exists in the wild, which means that attackers are actively using this vulnerability to compromise user systems. This elevates the severity of the situation and requires immediate action."

So what do you need to do now to stay protected?

Some Chrome browsers will update automatically but now is a good time to check your settings and relaunch this software as that installs any pending upgrades and keeps your PC safe.

To check which version of Chrome you are using, simply head to "About Chrome" in the Settings menu. Here it will show you which version you have installed.

If it reads "Chrome is up to date - Version 124.0.6367.202" you are all good and can safely browse the web - if it asks to "Re-launch" the application then it's wise to do this as soon as possible.

iOS 18: Trailblazing AI iPhone Upgrades Just Weeks Away, Report Claims - Forbes

It’s just four weeks until Apple launches this year’s World Wide Developers Conference on June 10, and reveals the software that will power iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Macs—the final software will go on public beta in July and general release in September, it’s thought. There have already been widespread rumors that AI will feature in a big way. And now, a new report says that some of the AI might come from OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the discussions between Google and Apple, to put the Gemini chatbot on the iPhone are still ongoing but haven’t led to an agreement. But, Gurman says, “Apple Inc. has closed in on an agreement with OpenAI to use the startup’s technology on the iPhone, part of a broader push to bring artificial intelligence features to its devices.”

The perception is that Apple is behind in the race to bring AI to the phone, not least since the Samsung Galaxy S24 series introduced Galaxy AI to great acclaim back in January.

And, as Gurman puts it, “Apple plans to make a splash in the artificial intelligence world in June.” And although no deal has yet been done with Open AI, it’s thought that negotiations have intensified.

Generative AI is complex and expensive and though Apple has its own AI features in train to be announced, it’s thought that to recapture the high ground, Apple wants to work with an outside organization to bring greater power more quickly.

And AI is one of the reasons Apple has just announced its M4 chip, much sooner than most people had expected, because M4 has a more powerful neural engine, designed to work well with AI. The M4 chip is available from May 15, in the new iPad Pro.

Working with OpenAI has its own challenges, not least because Apple is obsessive about privacy, and LLMs like the ones ChatGPT uses require so much processing power that doing everything on-device is challenging.

But Apple will “run some of its upcoming artificial intelligence features via data centers equipped with its own in-house processors.”

All of which may have contributed to Apple CEO Tim Cook claiming on the recent Apple earnings call that Apple will have the edge in AI. That’s something it needs to do, to catch up.

“We believe in the transformative power and promise of AI, and we believe we have advantages that will differentiate us in this new era,” Cook said.

How that will materialize will become evident in the coming weeks.

Today's NYT 'Strands' Hints, Spangram And Answers For Monday, May 13 - Forbes

Looking for Sunday’s Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here:

Hey, gang! Welcome to the start of a new week. I hope it’s an excellent one for you.

Today’s NYT Strands hints, spangram and answers are coming right up.

How To Play Strands

The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a play on the classic word search. It’s in beta for now, which means it’ll only stick around if enough people play it every day.

There’s a new game of Strands to play every day. The game will present you with a six by eight grid of letters. The aim is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you’ll get a clue as to what that theme is. When you find a theme word, it will remain highlighted in blue.

You’ll also need to find a special word called a spangram. This tells you what the words have in common. The spangram links at least two sides of the board, but it may not start or end there. While the theme words will not be a proper name, the spangram can be a proper name. When you find the spangram, it will remain highlighted in yellow.

Every letter is used once in one of the theme words and spangram. You can connect letters vertically, horizontally and diagonally, and it’s possible to switch directions in the middle of a word. If you’re playing on a touchscreen, double tap the last letter to submit your guess.

If you find three valid words of at least four letters that are not part of the theme, you’ll unlock the Hint button. Clicking this will highlight the letters that make up one of the theme words.

Be warned: You’ll need to be on your toes. Sometimes you’ll need to fill the missing word(s) in a phrase. On other days, the game may revolve around synonyms or homophones. The difficulty will vary from day to day, and the puzzle creators will try to surprise you sometimes.

What Is Today’s Strands Hint?

Scroll slowly! Just after the hint for today’s Strands puzzle, I’ll reveal what the answer words are.

The official theme hint for today’s Strand puzzle is...

Best in class

Need some extra help? Here’s another hint...

Top dogs

There are six words to find today, including the spangram.

What Are Today’s Strands Answers?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today’s Strands answers.

I’ll first tell you the spangram and show you where that is on the grid. I’ll then tell you the other words and show you how they fit in.

This is your final warning!

Today’s Strands spangram is...

DOGPILE

Here’s where you’ll find it on the grid...

The rest of today’s Strands theme words are...

  • HUSKY
  • BOXER
  • HOUND
  • SHEPHERD
  • COLLIE
  • BEAGLE
  • POODLE

Here’s what the completed grid looks like...

My strategy of looking for words in the corners paid off immediately when I saw HUSKY on the left rail and then BOXER next to it. So it was evident that I was looking for dog breeds. That’s timely, given that the Westminster Dog Show is taking place right now.

I found HOUND and SHEPHERD before the spangram, then the remaining words without the need for a hint.

I didn't use any hints and the spangram was the fifth theme word I found.

That’s all there is to it for today’s Strands clues and answers. Be sure to check my blog for hints and the solution for Tuesday’s game if you need them.
