A luxury sports car has been pelted with dead fish after its owner parked in a space reserved for fishermen.

The Aston Martin, which costs around £120,000, was apparently attacked by angry locals in Devon after being left for several days in a private parking bay in the posh town of Salcombe.

Pictures of the flashy vehicle, thought to be a V8 Vantage, showed rotting fish left on its windscreen and a barrel containing chains weighing up to half a tonne blocking it in.

The car had already been ticketed twice by the council but the owner had failed to move it.

To add insult to injury it was left next to a sign that stated: ‘Reserved parking for fisherman only.’

The locals’ own unique form of vigilant justice has apparently worked and the car has now reportedly been moved following the incident.

The V8 reportedly costs around £124,000. A special edition of the sports car features in the new James Bond film No Time to Die, which is due to be released in November.

Angry locals in Devon have flung stinky dead fish onto the windscreen of a 'rudely parked' Aston Martin. The flashy sports car, believed to be a V8 Vantage, was parked in the private spaces of Salcombe fish quay (September 3). The 'ignorantly' parked vehicle is said to have been left there for quite some time, racking up two separate parking tickets from the council.

Salcombe, frequently dubbed ‘Chelsea-on-Sea’ is the most expensive place to live in Devon and is a popular holiday spot for the rich and famous.

Earlier this summer town officials said the area had been inundated with visitors after the coronavirus lockdown was eased to allow overnight stays.

The population of the town rocketed from 2,000 to 25,000 as second-home owners and staycationers flocked to the area to enjoy a break.

Town mayor Nikki Turton said the tourists ‘seemed to think they were in a bubble’ where social distancing doesn’t apply.
