The next generation of consoles is here at last, with pre-orders for the highly anticipated Xbox Series X and Series S consoles launching at 8am today (September 22).
As we recently experienced with the PlayStation 5 pre-orders, stock can rapidly run out within a couple of minutes, so you're going to want to be at the ready to drop your cash on the best deals as soon as they go live to guarantee you get your shiny new Xbox when they officially release on November 10.
Every retailer you can think of, from Microsoft itself, to Amazon, Currys, Game, John Lewis, Argos, AO.com, Very, Tesco, ShopTo.Net, and Simply Games, have announced they will be running pre-orders for both the Xbox Series X and Series S, but they haven't told us how much stock is available from each retailer.
To help you find the very best deals from across the internet, we have laid out all the available pre-order links from each retailer for both the XSX and the XSS to make sure you can find the right offer for you.
We will be updating this page throughout the day from 8am on Tuesday, and regularly after that – so you'll always have the latest info on where to find the best pre-orders on the Xbox Series X.
Microsoft has thankfully opted for a much more organised approach to pre-orders, after Sony suffered a tricky launch day that saw pre-orders announced before Sony had officially revealed a date.
However, that doesn't mean you won't have to be quick to get your new Xbox confirmed.
Some Xbox fans may be disappointed that the Series X and Series S will not launch with the exclusive Halo Infinite when it releases in November, with developers Bungie revealing MasterChief will be playable on the new consoles in 2021.
Still, at launch you'll be able to play these titles at launch:
Dirt 5
Fortnite
Gears 5 (Series X Upgraded)
Gears Tactics
NBA 2K21
Observer: System Redux
Tetris Effect: Connected
The Falconeer
Yakuza: Like a Dragon
Best Xbox Series X and Seres S pre-order deals
Microsoft
As is typically the case with most new gadgets, the best place to pre-order the Xbox Series X and S will be with Microsoft themselves, who will have the largest stockpile of consoles and are less likely to runout within minutes of the pre-orders going live.
You'll be able to pre-order the Series X for £449 right here, with a controller included in the price.
The Series S will be up for pre-order for £249 here.
Amazon
Amazon will also be running pre-orders on the new Xbox consoles – expect prices to stay steady at £449 for the Series X, and £249 for the Series S.
It's worth noting you can also pick up the Elite 2 controller right now for a reduced price to upgrade your gaming.
The new controller has four extra paddles on the back that you can re-assign as front-facing buttons, giving you the freedom to press X, B, A, Y without taking your thumb off the joy-stick.
GAME
GAME had the biggest stockpile of PS5 consoles during the Sony pre-orders, and we expect a similar story with the Xbox Series X.
Currys
We expect prices to be the same across Currys' pre-order options, with the Series X costing £449 and the Series S costing £249.
You'll have to join a queue to get your hands on a pre-order for the Xbox Series X and S, which you can join here.
John Lewis
John Lewis is tipped to have a large stock of Xbox consoles for the pre-order period.
Expect it to run the same prices as all the other retailers, with the Series X costing £449 and the Series S costing £249.
Argos
With Argos, one important thing is making sure that your local store will have the Xbox Series X or Series S in stock if you choose to collect – simply enter your postcode when pre-ordering.
You can get it delivered to you, but that is from the nationwide Argos depot, so there might be less stock.
AO.com
This retailer had reduced PS5 stock, and we have no idea how many Xbox consoles it has, but it's another option in case the others have run out.
Very
Very had PS5 stock, and we expect a similar situation for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. Watch this space come 8am.
Tesco
While there may be Xbox consoles in Tesco stores across the country on release day on November 10, if you prefer, you can pre-order online and it will be delivered to you instead.
ShopTo.Net
ShopTo.Net carried PS5 stock, and we expect it will also have some Xbox Series X and Series X consoles ready for you to pre-order.
They are only allowing one console per customer, and they are running out fast, but you can get your order in now.
Simply Games
Simply Games is carrying the PS5 and come 8am, we also expect to see Microsoft's next-gen console ready for pre-order.
