When does Starfield come to Xbox Game Pass? Here's when you can start playing - The Mirror

Starfield has been playable all weekend for players who bought the game's premium edition, but when does Starfield come to Xbox Game Pass?

Despite everyone on your social media posting about playing Starfield all weekend, the game doesn't technically come out until later this week on Wednesday, September 6. Starfield Early Access was made available to players who bought the games Premium edition or the Premium Edition Upgrade this past Friday, but when does Starfield come to Xbox Game Pass?

To get it out of the way, you can join in on the Starfield Early Access train even with an Xbox Game Pass version. The aforementioned Premium Edition Upgrade (which you can find in our Starfield pre-order guide ) will let you start playing now for £31.49 / $31.49 / AU$53.95 (that's with the Xbox Game Pass subscriber discount, without it the upgrade costs £34.99 / $34.99 / AU$59.95).

Even though the Starfield Premium Edition comes with the Shattered Space DLC and some extra goodies, it loses value every day as the early access period runs out. There's no discount for buying the Premium Edition when early access only has two days left vs when it had five days left, so at this point it may be worth waiting until the actual launch on September 6, 2023.

When does Starfield come to Xbox Game Pass?

Starfield will arrive on Xbox Game Pass on Wednesday, September 6 at 1am BST and Tuesday, September 5 at 8pm EDT / 5pm PDT. This is when the game officially launches worldwide (not counting the early access launch, obviously). Unfortunately, outside of the Starfield Premium Edition early access, you won't be able to play Starfield any earlier than that as the New Zealand trick doesn't work for Starfield due to the game launching simultaneously worldwide.

The good news is that Starfield will remain on Xbox Game pass for as long as Xbox Game Pass exists most likely, as first party Microsoft titles don't tend to leave the service. So if you're overwhelmed by the sheer amount of fantastic 2023 releases like I am (I still haven't finished Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom or Star Wars Jedi: Survivor personally), don't worry you have time to get to Bethesda 's Starfield.
