With Apple's next iPhone and Watch launch event scheduled for September 12, it should come as no surprise to see Google attempting to steal some anticipation in favour of its rival devices. Arguably, the Pixel Watch 2's 'sneak peek' reveals more new details than the Pixel 8 series', both of which we have embedded below. For example, the video confirms that the Pixel Watch 2 is IP68 certified; its predecessor is only 5 ATM water resistant.
Moreover, Google has included a new sensor array, which 9to5Google speculates is an electrodermal activity (EDA) sensor to monitor stress levels. Also, the Pixel Watch 2 features revised hardware buttons, albeit with the same display bezels and proprietary watch band mechanism. Reportedly, the Pixel Watch 2 will offer better battery life and performance too, courtesy of a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1-derived processor. Based on the videos below, Google will open pre-orders for the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel Watch 2 in multiple markets.
