A village pub in Essex could be crowned winner for one of the Great British Pub Awards 2021.
Against hundreds of pubs across the country, the prestigious awards, organised by The Morning Advertiser, have revealed this year's shortlist for the industry's pub awards.
After two rounds of rigorous judging, The Alma in Copford, near Colchester, has been listed as a finalist for Greene King Pub of the Year.

It is something the village pub prides itself on, doing everything they can to use local providers and local produce where possible to "minimise the food miles spent" and to help "their green credentials" - as well as being great quality.
With the last year and a half of the pandemic, the pub has also done what it can to create a Covid-friendly atmosphere with socially distanced tables outside for eating and drinking as well as a marquee with heaters outdoors.
While the pub is undoubtedly a local pub, they welcome anyone in for food and drink.
