Kate and William having 'informal' chats with Meghan and Harry over video - Express

Kate and Prince William are having "informal" video calls with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the US as the brothers appear to be staying in touch since stepping down as a senior royal, according to royal expert Stewart Pearce. He claimed that the Cambridges "respect" Harry and Meghan's lifestyle in the US. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from royal duties in March 2020.

Speaking to Royally Us on Us Weekly, Mr Pearce said: "I know that the four are talking with one another and they're talking via Zoom, they're talking via FaceTime.

"They're very close with one another.

"Look, they're very different people so their lens on the world is highly individualised and what's remarkable is they all totally respect that this lens is different.

"It's defined largely from a cultural perspective, isn't it?

"If William and Kate were living in the US, the lens of their creative realisation would be completely different to how it is in the UK."

He added: "It's really informal. It's like, did you watch Netflix last evening?"

The claims come as Harry and Meghan have made a donation to the charity Women for Afghan Women (WAW) after Afghanistan fell to the Taliban.

The charity wrote on Instagram: "We are immensely grateful for the generosity of the Archewell Foundation in support of our efforts to evacuate/relocate thousands of Afghan women, children, families, including our staff."

The Queen's grandson Harry and former Suits actress Meghan released a lengthy statement through the Archewell website on Tuesday, expressing their heartbreak over the state of the "exceptionally fragile" world and saying they had been left speechless by the crisis in Afghanistan.

The couple, who quit royal duties for a life in the US, urged global leaders to speed up humanitarian talks and asked people to support charities trying to help those in need.

A statement on their website read: "As we all feel the many layers of pain due to the situation in Afghanistan, we are left speechless.

As we all watch the growing humanitarian disaster in Haiti, and the threat of it worsening after last weekend's earthquake, we are left heartbroken.

"And as we all witness the continuing global health crisis, exacerbated by new variants and constant misinformation, we are left scared.

When any person or community suffers, a piece of each of us does so with them, whether we realize it or not. And though we are not meant to live in a state of suffering, we, as a people, are being conditioned to accept it. It's easy to find ourselves feeling powerless, but we can put our values into action—together.

"To start, we encourage you to join us in supporting a number of organizations doing critical work. We also urge those in positions of global influence to rapidly advance the humanitarian dialogues that are expected to take place this fall at multilateral gatherings such as the U.N. General Assembly and the G20 Leaders' Summit.

As an international community, it is the decisions we make now—to alleviate suffering among those we know and those we may never meet—that will prove our humanity."
