For some time, Bitmoji Avatars were all the rage, but now Facebook is attempting to introduce its own take on the online cartoon Avatar. Facebook Avatars are currently taking over the social media app, with many users making their own Avatar and sharing their creation with friends. Some may be confused as to how to make their own Facebook Avatars, but luckily the process is pretty simple and painless if one knows where to look.
The first step is to push the menu button, which is the three lines to the right of the notification icon on the top of the screen. This will bring up a blue menu screen. Scroll to the bottom and then tap on "See More" to get see more options. The top option should be Avatars. Simply click on that and then the Facebook app will walk through the process of creating one's Avatar. When players are done customizing their Avatar, they will then be able to use it in stickers, through Facebook messenger, and use it as their Facebook profile picture if they so desire.
Some Facebook users may be having difficulty finding the Avatar option still, and that may be because they haven't updated to the latest version of the app. Be sure to download the latest version of Facebook and try again.
Facebook Avatars are really popular right now, but it's far from the only thing that lets players create their own cartoon avatars. Besides the aforementioned Bitmoji, players can also create their own Xbox Live Avatars if they so desire for use on Xbox 360, Xbox One, and more likely than not, Xbox Series X.
Considering how popular these kinds of Avatars are, it will be interesting to see if other services create their own versions. For example, Sony's upcoming PlayStation 5 console may have expanded social media features, which would potentially include Avatars like this. However, that's just speculation at this time, and nothing like that has actually been announced at the time of this writing.
Considering how Xbox has utilized Avatars, it will be interesting to see if Facebook Gaming incorporates them more heavily in the future.
