Samsung Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5: release date and price
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are available to pre-order now after being revealed on July 26. The UK release date is August 11, 2023.
The Z Fold 5 is available to buy in three storage sizes: 256GB (£1,749), 512GB (£1,849), and 1TB (£2,049), although many of the pre-order deals are offering the 512GB model for the price of the base storage.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 is priced from £1,049 (256GB) in the UK, while the 512GB version costs £1,149. Like the Fold 5, most of the pre-order deals give you 512GB of storage for the price of the 256GB model.

The Z Fold 5 is the largest and most powerful foldable that Samsung makes – with a 7.6-inch screen that folds with a book-like hinge.
The latest model has a slightly slimmer design than the previous Fold 4, and there’s no longer a noticeable gap between the two screens when it's closed.
There are three colours to choose from – blue, cream and black – and the screen brightness is increased by more than 30%. The use of the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset means that it’s better for games and multitasking – and it works with a new, slimmer, S-pen stylus, too.

Samsung increased the front screen size from the Flip 4 to the Flip 5, and this means it's ideal for selfies and pictures at all angles, even when it's closed.
This is a more pocketable option than the Fold 5, with the hinge running horizontally across the middle of the screen that, when closed, leaves you with a 3.4-inch display to play with.
This model is available in four colours – mint, cream, black and lavender – and like the Fold 5, the new hinge means there's no longer a gap when it's shut.
