Long gone are the days when a television sat unobtrusively in the corner of the living room.
A new 8K model with a 325-inch (27ft) screen has been released at a cost of up to £1.2million for the lucky few who can afford it.
LG’s newly announced range of Direct View LED (DVLED) displays are designed to mimic the experience of being at a cinema. The TV is described by the firm as the “supercar of home theatre displays”.
Dan Smith, the vice-president of LG Electronics USA, told TechRadar that the products, referred to as the Extreme Home Cinema range, will cost from $70,000 (£50,000) up to $1.7 million (£1.2 million).
