The next wave of PS5 console pre-orders are going to be heading out this week, with UK customers next in line.
And the good news is that new PS5 stock options are also going to be available when the console is launched in Europe this week.
The recent replenishment of PlayStation 5 console stock has been sporadic in both the UK and the United States over recent weeks.
And there’s no doubt that there are still plenty of people waiting for their chance to order a PS5.
Gamers in the United States are finding it difficult to find the PlayStation 5 listed on normal retail sites, with the likes of Walmart and Target sold out until Black Friday.
But with the official release date for the next-gen machine in the UK set for Thursday, November 19, there’s been a positive update for fans.
A number of retailers have confirmed that they will have online PS5 stock available to buy on release day.
The latest to offer a PlayStation 5 stock update is Currys PC World, who have revealed they will be offering purchase options for consoles on November 19.
Gamers will need to be ready to log in and try and nab a console from 9am GMT onward, although there’s a good chance everything will be sold out quickly.
A message from Currys confirms: “Please remember, the PS5 console will be available to order ONLINE ONLY from 9am tomorrow.
“No units will be available for in-store purchase on Thursday 19th November, please continue to check back online for further updates.”
Currys won’t be alone, with Amazon UK and John Lewis also confirming their plans for PS5 release day.
Amazon has confirmed that there will be more PS5 stock released on November 19, at least in the UK, Italy and Spain. It should be noted that this new wave of PlayStation consoles will be available to buy at midday.
An email from Amazon adds: "The Sony PlayStation 5 will be available for order again on Amazon.co.uk on 19 November. Stock is limited.
“We will make every effort to deliver all orders as soon as possible. If you order, we will email you with an estimated delivery date. However, this may be subject to change.”
John Lewis has also confirmed that new stock will be available on November 19, with the latest post on the retailer’s website revealing: “PlayStation 5 console ordering update: the PS5 console will be made available to order online only on launch day, Thursday, 19th November 2020.
“PlayStation 5 consoles will not be available for in-store purchase at any of our John Lewis & Partner stores.”
This fits in with an earlier statement from Sony, who confirmed that no PlayStation 5 stock would be available to buy in-store, due to the current world situation.
Gamers have been dishing out advice on preemptively setting up online retail accounts with address and payment details already filled out, to have the best chance at scoring a console.
But these tactics don’t always work out and it looks like some gamers will be waiting into next year to get a next-gen console.
The good news for those who miss out on ordering a console this week is that more PS5 stock has been promised for both before and after the December Holidays.
