Want A Jet Set Radio Sequel? Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Might Be Your Best Shot - Nintendo Life

Jet Set Radio is a series that deserves better. Sega released the first entry on the Dreamcast 20 years ago (sorry if that revelation has made you crumble to dust), and while it swiftly followed it up with an Xbox-exclusive sequel, the franchise has been dormant ever since.

If you're one of the many people hoping for a new Jet Set Radio entry, then you'll be pleased to learn that Lethal League developer Team Reptile is creating the next best thing – a spiritual successor called Bomb Rush Cyberfunk in which "self-styled crews are equipped with personal boostpacks," and players can "dance, paint, trick [and] face-off with the cops."

As you can see from the trailer, the game really does nail the feel of Jet Set Radio – so much so that some people are fearful that Sega might take notice:

Hideki Naganuma, the composer who contributed to Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future, is also involved, which makes the link to Sega's series even stronger.

It's only been confirmed for Steam so far, but given that Lethal League made its way to consoles (and taking into account the theme and tone of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk) we'd be willing to wager quite heavily that a Switch release will happen in the fullness of time – assuming Dr. Serkan Toto's rather dire prediction doesn't come to pass, of course.
