Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok is supposedly the "most ambitious" expansion in franchise history — and it's got the price tag to show for it. Taking a look at Dawn of Ragnarok's page on the PlayStation Store confirms that the DLC won't be part of Valhalla's season pass, which has already offered two previous expansions: Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris.
This was pretty much expected, as Ubisoft only ever said that the season pass would cover two premium expansions — and a second year of support for Valhalla was never part of the publisher's original plan.
So, you're going to have to pay up for Dawn of Ragnarok. It's available to pre-purchase now (doing so gets you an armour set, weapon, and animals skins for use in the main game, starting today), and it's priced at £32.99 / $39.99. It's a reasonably hefty tag — the kind of dosh that some budget titles ask for.
It'll be interesting to see just how big Dawn of Ragnarok ends up being. You would hope that if Ubisoft is charging over £30 / $30 for it, it'll basically be its own game. We'll likely learn more over the coming weeks.
