Windows 10 fans can at last download a fix for a frustrating issue that affected the Microsoft OS. The problem was an unintended result of the Patch Tuesday June release, and the glitch ended up breaking a key feature with Windows 10. The bug led to connectivity problems with printers on Windows 10, which could cause unexpected printer spool shutdowns.
But the problem has now been addressed by Microsoft who have released an Out of Band fix.
The changelog for the fix says: "Addresses an issue that might prevent certain printers from printing.
"The print spooler might generate an error or close unexpectedly when attempting to print, and no output will come from the affected printer.
"You might also encounter issues with the apps you are attempting to print from, such as receiving an error, or the app might close unexpectedly.

"This issue might also affect software-based printers, such as when printing to PDF."
Microsoft said they only recommend installing this optional update if you have been affected by the issue.
The fix resolves the issue on Ricoh, Canon, Panasonic, and Brother printers that were affected by the glitch.

The news comes as Windows 10 users are facing another issue with the OS, this time sparked by the May 2020 update.
Microsoft has confirmed that a glitch in Windows 10 version 2004 may cause issues with the Storage Spaces feature.
Storage Spaces is designed to protect Windows 10 users' data by storing copies of data on multiple drives.
However, Microsoft has now revealed that Windows 10 customers may have trouble accessing this feature following the release of the May 2020 update.
The Redmond-based tech giant also advised against users running the 'chkdsk' command on any device affected by this issue.
In a post online, Microsoft explained: "Devices using Storage Spaces might have issues using or accessing their Storage Spaces after updating to Windows 10, version 2004 (the May 2020 Update) and Windows Server, version 2004.
"When using some configurations, partition for Storage Spaces might show as RAW in Disk Manager."
On the support page for this issue, Microsoft said there is currently no workaround for the issue but they are investigating the problem.
