A HAMPSHIRE dad is outraged after being asked to pay for a phone he never received.
Nick Gilbert from Hedge End ordered a Doro 6820 worth about £85 on Amazon.
But when the parcel arrived, he was disappointed to find he'd been sent a computer part instead.
After returning the unwanted item, the father-of-one was issued with a full refund.
However, the 44-year-old has since been told he will be charged again if he doesn't return the device he ordered, despite the fact he never received it.
Nick said: “My wife was in at the time it was delivered, but when she opened it, it contained a PCI card, a computer component.
“And initially Amazon were fine. We returned it stating that the reason was that we'd received the incorrect item.”
However, a few weeks later Nick received an email saying if he didn’t return the phone, he would be charged for it.

Nick said: “They sent me an email saying, you have returned the incorrect item, so therefore, if you do not return the correct item, we will recharge you for the full amount of the item that you did not return.
“We then wrote back and said, 'well, we just returned the exact item you gave us'.”
Nick contacted Amazon to find a solution, however, he said the company “would not respond to further emails about this issue”.
He claims the box looked tampered with, suggesting someone had deliberately opened it and replaced the device inside.

"It’s almost like they're accusing us of the crime," he said.
"Like, we sent you a real phone and you've sent us back a fake.
"I’m just annoyed that somebody got away with the crime and that we've got no voice, we can't talk to anyone about it and it's really frustrating. I literally lie awake, frustrated by the situation."
In response, an Amazon spokesperson said: “We are taking this matter seriously and have launched an investigation.”
They added they will reach out to Nick once a resolution has been found.
