Apex Legends: Wattson Revealed as 10th Legend, Season 2 Battle Pass Details Revealed - E3 2019 - IGN

Arriving with a ton of new content.

Apex Legends second season will be called Battle Charge and will be released on July 2, 2019. In addition, the tenth Legend, Wattson, has been revealed.

Wattson was introduced in Apex Legend's first cinematic for one of its characters. Her real name is Natalie Paquette and is the daughter of the Games' lead electrical engineer.

Her Tactical Ability is called Perimeter Security and connects "nodes to create electrified fences that damage and slow enemies."

Watson's Passive Ability is Spark of Genius. Ultimate Accelerants fully charge Wattson's Ultimate Ability and "standing near interception pylons boosts your Tactical Ability recharge."

Her Ultimate Ability is Interception Pylon, where Wattson can "place an electrified pylon that destroys incoming ordnance and repairs damaged shields as long as it stands. (Max: 3)"

Season 2 will arrive with a new weapon called L-Star, a care package weapon that is "so OP." It is fully automatic and doesn't use ammo gathered on the ground, but comes with all it can take. It was also first featured in Titantfall 2, another Respawn title.

Four legendary skins will also be available in Season 2, including the Prince of Darkness skin for Caustic and the Jade Tiger skin for Octane. A Spitfire skin - The Intimidator - was revealed alongside the Iron Rampage skin for the E-301.

The battle pass is now challenge based (daily and weekly), not timed based as the first season. Players will also earn enough crafting materials at level 100 to craft your very own legendary weapon.

Season 2 will also bring with it a Ranked Mode that will feature six tiers. It goes from Bronze to Apex Predator, and uses special matchmaking for each different tier. Players will gain rewards based on what tier they are at the end of each season.

In this new season, Respawn is choosing to focus progression and rewarding players. As outlined earlier this week alongside the announcement of The Legendary Hunt, Apex Legends' players will now be able to level up much quicker to level 100 and the "grind" will be much improved.

The Legendary Hunt is taking place right now and tasks players to finish in the Top 5 in any match, which will then get you into a queue of other Top 5 winners. There will also be limited-time challenges that can earn players Rare, Epic, and Legendary Skins. In addition, a Double XP weekend is taking place this weekend.

Apex Legends was only one of the games featured at EA PLAY 2019, and followed the first gameplay reveal of Respawn's other title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
